With 4 bedrooms, this is the largest villa at Heavenly Residence. The villa is an architectural masterpiece which took over 18 months to build, with steps cascading down the cliff edge. The villa has been named OMG "Oh my God" as a result of the initial reaction of visitors on arrival, and their pure amazement. Not surprising considering the villa is 700 sq m (7,534 sq ft) and all that you can see on arrival is the endless Indian Ocean, with 180 degree panoramic views. the villa also boasts a 25m long infinity pool, with the water lapping over the cliff edge out to sea. The jacuzzi provides the perfect vantage point from where to relax and lap up your surroundings, watching the sea meet the horizon.

By the poolside, the villa boasts an ironwood sun deck and lawns, with equally spectacular views. The Villa has a capacity for up to 50 people, what could be a more perfect setting for a wedding, or glamorous event.
The interior of "Oh my God" is equally stunning, with marble flooring and woven sea grass furniture. The villa is divided into what could be described as zones, each zone being identified by a varying clour of Thai silk. Fabled for her precious stones since Biblical times when Queen Sheba received precious local gems from King Solomon, thee should be no surprise that Sri Lanka, with its 2500 years of gemming history, heralded New Year 2016 with the sparkling discovery of the world’s largest Blue Star Sapphire, the Star of Adam.

A local gem merchant a fortnight ago went on record saying that he possessed the world’s largest Blue Star Sapphire. Estimated to be worth the dazzling but dizzying price of US$300 million.

The Gemological institute, a Colombo-based pioneering private laboratory with specialized knowledge in the identification and certification of precious gems confirmed that the rare egg-shaped gemstone weighing 1404.49 carats could indeed be considered the largest of its type - globally.

Accordingly, the certification report stated that the precious stone was a “large specimen of unheated Blue Star Sapphire with a well-defined Asterism (star effect).”

The pricing, according to the reserve price of other famous gems, which now lives in fear of being identified and the additional risk of his precious Star Blue Sapphire being stolen. Speaking through an intermediary, he said “I am happy and proud. It is an honor to hold such a beauty.”

He came to own the precious gemstone four months ago when he purchased it from a local agent but its certification led him to the understanding that what he possessed was no ordinary Star Sapphire but the rarest kind - both in beauty and value. “The size and the sparkling star said it all: I knew it was precious beyond precious,” he revealed to the Srineth TV reporter. 
The current owner felt - thought not yet confirmed by then- that this could be a record-breaking Star Sapphire. “I was overjoyed to have it confirmed. But I don’t think even the agent knew its actual worth as he sold the precious stone to me.”

The new Blue Star Sapphire, named in honour of Adam’s Tears of repentance, was discovered from a gem pit in Rathnapura, Sri Lanka’s gem capital. The new discovery has beaten the previous record holder, weighing 1,395 carats, at one time owned by the Guruge Brothers, though its current owner remains unknown.

Sri Lanka’s Blue Sapphires, also referred to as Ceylon Sapphires, are renowned for their unique colour, clarity and shimmer in their cornflower blue luster. One of the best discovered from Sri Lanka was owned by Diana, the Princess of Wales, now adorns the hand of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.

Meanwhile, at least two gemologists expressed the opinion that the discovery of a Star Blue Sapphire, in ancient time, was considered a sign of prosperity not for the owner alone but for the entire country.

I remain somewhat bearish on the housing market in 2011 and into 2012. If you are a buyer, great; but sellers may continue to face lower prices.

The housing market continues to be sluggish, with weak growth in building permits and housing starts. In November, Housing Starts of 555,000 were better than the estimate of 545,000 and the 534,000 in October. An improvement, but we are also interested in the reading for Building Permits, which foreshadows the Housing Starts. In November, Building Permits of 530,000 fell short of the estimate of 560,000 and the 552,000 in October.

The housing market is improving and it’s better than where it stood a year ago, but we feel there will continue to be barriers as we move ahead.

Consider that a key driver of the housing market is jobs. We need jobs and security in order to give buyers the confidence to assume a mortgage and not worry about losing their job and missing payments. Until we see this, I really question how confident home buyers will be. In December, the key non-farm jobs report showed the disappointing creation of 103,000 jobs, well below the consensus estimate of 170,000.

Investors who once engaged in the process of real estate speculation have discovered they must add value to the property if they are to have even a glimmer of a hope of selling it today.

As a result of the glut of homes on the market due to speculation and flipping, there are some markets that are attempting to eliminate the process all together. Some communities have placed restrictions on the abilities of buyers to resell their home within at least one year period following the date they close on their property.

Since most speculators and investors hope to sell within six months or less, this effectively prevents them from doing so. Communities that had the foresight to take this action at the height of the housing boom have been in a much better place than other communities where flipping and speculation ran rampant at the same time.

While the depressed housing market has caused many investors to step out there is little doubt that once the market corrects itself, which many believe will happen by 2010, these investors will return; poised and ready to begin reaping in the profits once again.
